Meet in Urumqi
Military Reclamation Museum and Gorge Wonders
Early the next morning, the bus drove out of Urumqi City, and the scenery outside the window gradually changed from the city to the Gobi Desert. In the morning at the Military Reclamation Museum, professional docents told the story of the Corps soldiers reclaiming the wasteland and reclaiming the land. The display cabinets displayed the hoes, military kettles and faded military uniforms used in the past. These mottled objects silently told the passionate years.
Arriving at the Anjihai Grand Canyon in the afternoon, the red sandstone showed different shades of crimson in the sun, and the texture of the rock layers undulated like waves. We walked along the viewing boardwalk, and a few teammates who were afraid of heights only dared to watch from a distance, but were reluctant to miss the spectacular sight. The river deep in the canyon meanders through the red rocks like a silver ribbon.
The blue world of Sailimu Lake
When they arrived at Sailimu Lake on the third day, the whole car was amazed - it was an unimaginable blue, like a huge sapphire set in the mountains. We experienced the cruise and trekking. The cruise boat broke through the mirrored lake and stood on the bow of the boat with the breeze blowing. Although the trekking pine tree head was breathless, each observation deck could see the lake from different angles, making it all worth it. Taste the sweet spring water in Kele Yongzhu and instantly wash away all fatigue.
Karajun's flower sea walk
On the fourth day, I came to the Karajun grassland of the "Hanging Garden". In the morning, I visited the flower stand, and the wild flowers all over the mountains and plains competed to bloom, weaving into a huge flower carpet. In the afternoon, I chose to ride on horseback at the Falcon Terrace. The horses walked meekly and the bells were crisp. The most surprising thing was the afternoon tea under the grassland sky, drinking salty milk tea, tasting nuts and dairy products, and overlooking the grassland as if I was in a wonderland.
Shata's near-miss
On the fifth day, I strolled along the wooden boardwalk in Shata, flanked by towering snow-capped mountains and dense spruce forests, with clear streams running at the bottom of the valley. When we got on the bus back from the afternoon tour, we heard the news that the rope of the General Bridge was broken, and everyone was terrified. The leader calmed everyone's emotions, which made us cherish travel more and appreciate the importance of safety more deeply.
Kudenin Thick Forest Exploration
Day 6 In Kudenin, the dense spruce forest brought bursts of coolness. Riding deep into the forest, the horses walked unhurriedly on the forest path, and the sun shone dappled through the canopy. The groom enthusiastically introduced the plants along the way, and invited us to taste naan and yogurt during the break. That simple enthusiasm was more touching than the beautiful scenery.
Narati and Bayanbrook
The Narati grassland on the seventh day gave us a glimpse of the vastness of the "grassland in the sky". Standing on the grassland, we could see the endless green ocean in front of us, and the undulating grassy slopes extended to the sky. Lying on the grass to watch the clouds change, from time to time, herders rode horses to drive the sheep past, and the bells sounded like flowing pastoral songs.
In the evening, we arrived at Bayinbrook in advance and took the scenic transfer to enter the scenic spot. Standing on the observation deck, the Kaidu River meanders nine bends on the grassland. As we waited for the sunset, the sun slowly set in the west, the sky changed from blue to golden, then orange, and finally the river turned into flowing gold. Although there were many people on the observation deck, when the setting sun shone on the grassland, everyone quieted down, leaving only the sound of shutters and admiration.
Surprise trip on the Duku Highway
On the eighth day, I thought I would miss the Duku Highway. At breakfast, the news of the opening of the highway suddenly came, and everyone was very excited. Transfer to a car to cross this legendary highway, and there is a new scenery after every turn. Although they encountered a classic traffic jam, everyone went with the flow, got out of the car to take pictures and chat, and even tourists took out tea sets to invite everyone to drink tea and watch the scenery.
Unforgettable farewell
On the last day of disbanding in Urumqi, we were strangers nine days ago, and now we have embraced and said goodbye like old friends. On the return plane, looking out the window at the Tianshan Mountains, I remembered the little bits and pieces of these days. Those magnificent scenery are unforgettable, but what is more precious is the people I met during the journey and the time shared.
Tianshan is still there, and we return to life with stories and memories. But I know that on a tired afternoon, I will think of the blue of Sailimu Lake, the sea of flowers in Karajun, the sunset in Bayinbrook, and the smiling faces on the Duku Highway. This is probably the meaning of travel - to bury shining memories in ordinary life.
